Local Chambers of Commerce for CV21 2RS. These can be an extraordinarily effective way of getting into the business community and / or getting things done. Equally they can be entirely useless depending on the chair. If they have networking events associated with them definitely go, and keep going, if you have a business that need local support. What you put in is exactly what you get out. Below is the national site. Watch this slot - it might improve!

Hunters Lane Waste Recycling Centre

Hunters Ln, Rugby CV21 1EA, UK

A great place to recycle almost everything or just to throw it away. The staff always helpful and when asked will advise you where to place your items to recycle. Nearly always now there is a queue to get your vehicle in but it doesn't take too long. The charity shop is useful for the odd things and all electrical items are checked. Probably one of the best recycling centres in the area. There is a height restriction of 2 m or 6 foot 6 inches at the public entrance.

A great facility for Rugby where you can recycle most things. Stuff that is still in decent condition can also go into the charity shop there, which is also a really handy place itself, particularly for things like electrical and plumbing spares. Be aware that queues can get really long at popular times, also if you turn up in a van they'll likely make you pay a fee as a trader, even if it's not trade waste (this happened to me!).

Dental Surgeries

Smile Studio - Rugby Dentist

159 Railway Terrace, Rugby CV21 3HQ, UK – 01788 579379

I visited this practice for some dental treatment a few weeks ago. The dentist was extremely friendly and caring and demonstrated a great sense of empathy during the consultation before the treatment. During the consultation he went through all the possible treatment options and also addressed all my concerns, making me feel comfortable and relaxed. The dental team were very welcoming and friendly, and I'd like to thank the dentist and the team for the treatment they provided! Many thanks.

I have been a patient with Dr Rahman for over 20 years. He has provided me with excellent care, being courteous and empathetic at all times; and has given me a smile that I am proud of. Thanks for your excellent care. Mark

Jones Dental & Implant Clinic

7a Moultrie Rd, Rugby CV21 3BD, UK – 01788 565089

I have been a patient here for several years and I cannot rate the team more highly! The service is second to none, from ease of contact to arrange appointments, the extremely welcoming, professional and polite reception/administration team deal with all queries expertly and always aim to work around my schedule, to the text and email reminders and phone calls to ensure my dental care is on top form. This seamlessly moves to the dental staff teams who are some of the best I have encountered, always looking to provide options for treatment and good sound advice to ensure my dental health is as good as it can be. I couldn’t ask for a more professional or friendly service, all members of the practice are exceptional in their service and care. I would recommend the practice to anyone who wants a straight forward, professional and friendly service! 5*’s!

I warmly recommend these dental clinic because of the staff. They were really helpful and really kind with my daughter and I, from the reception until the dentist. Furthermore, Victoria Wynne is really kind and lovely with children. Besides she softly handled my daughter and did a great job on her very bad tooth.

Rugby Dental Care

Wow what a pleasant experience my visit to you was this morning, thank you so much for making me feel at ease and expaining everything so clearly.

First time in about 5 years that I have been to the dentist having had a really bad experience and being absolutely terrified! They were fantastic, really put me at my ease and kept me calm. More information than I have ever been given before. I will definitely now be going every 6 months rather than when I have to!! Highly recommended.

Clifton Road Surgery

26 Clifton Rd, Rugby CV21 3QF, UK – 01788 552211

Best surgery I've had. Hard to get appointment but that's a national problem, not their fault. I have long a term health problem and all of the doctors I saw their were great. I've always found the reception staff perfectly friendly and have seen then deal very calmly with some very difficult patients. I have now left Rugby and hope my new surgery will be as good.

Converted Victorian building with good access to ground floor, limited parking so usually park on paradise street as free. Phone at 8am on redial to get appointment for same day or wait after morning surgery at 11 30 if they say it's OK. Nurse practitioner triage and touch screen check-in, piped music is annoying and makes hearing announcements hard as you tune out. Nice staff and online bookings for prescriptions etc.

Hospital of St Cross

Barby Rd, Rugby CV22 5PX, UK – 01788 572831

I have just spent a week on cedar ward well what can i say 5 star service my quality of care was exceptional above and beyond there caring compassionate reassured me every step of the way i felt very cared for from the dr metcalfe and is registar to the aesthetics put me at ease was not worried at all.And the nurses well there just wonderful hannah and gemma and catherine were just lovely but so were all the rest there deserve so much more than there paid but you can tell there so dedicated to there profession i enjoyed it so much i didnt want to go home oh and the food was excellent too.

Regularly visit here, including to take my children to outpatients appointments, parking can be difficult (although easier than UHCW) and although it is great that the first 30mins are free, the next quantity available is 3hours, which is far too much for a standard appointment (however at under £2 once again better/cheaper than UHCW). Can't fault any of the staff I've seen in numerous departments, simply NHS waiting list times of many many months can be a little frustrating.

Whitehall Medical Practice

Lower Hillmorton Rd, Morton Gardens, Rugby CV21 3AQ, UK – 01788 542212

Just seen the new Dr Clapton. She was excellent and did not rush me at all. A welcome addition to Whitehall Med.

One of the best GP service our family received. Considering all Medical Center are extremely busy, Whitehall's staffs are really helpful and always managed to speak to doc either on call or in person.

Saint Andrew's is a warm and welcoming church community, committed to its mission to be at the heart of things, with a range of spiritual, fellowship and cultural activities to meet the needs of all. - Saint Andrews is great for families - there is a ministry for children as part of its Sunday services as well as family services and events, and a children's choir. - For those who wish to explore and develop their faith, Rev Nay and her team build plenty of opportunities into the regular worship life of the church as well as offering house groups, retreats and regular contemplative Julian Group meetings. - There is a rich musical tradition with a beautiful church choir mixing classical and more contemporary church music , as well as an open to all comers adult community choir. - The church cafe is open Monday to Saturday providing a great spot for tea and cake with friends or family. - Or if you need time to reflect or pray you can light a candle, leave a prayer on the board, or speak to one of the lay chaplains who are in the church every day. Weekday evenings Saint Andrew's hosts a range of musical and cultural events.

St Andrew is a lovely church and is unique with two ringable peals of bells, a 24 cwt peal of eight in the NE tower, and a 9 cwt peal of 5 in the West tower. An active band makes good use of both peals, but not both at the same time! Visiting ringers are welcome to join in with us.

Caldecote Day Nursery

2a Lancaster Rd, Rugby CV21 2QN, UK – 01788 542337

We recently moved from London and have seen complete different life in Rugby so was bit worried for Our son for his nursery. He joined before 4-5 weeks only and we can see his growth on everyday bases. As this was his first nursery we were too worried about his settling but highly apriciate hard work of staff and personal attention for all the changes they bought in my child. He is very happy, enjoying in nursery with personal development and learnings. Today We as parents appreciate all the support from the Entire team of Nursery. We were worried to send him in nursery on his special day away from us being unsure wether he will be happy or not. We had demanding wishes to make his day at nursery and you supported a lot to fulfill all. We thank all of you for what you have done and will be life time memory for him to carry.

Primary and Secondary Schools

Long Lawford Primary School

Holbrook Rd, Long Lawford, Rugby CV23 9AL, UK – 01788 543332

Good school, but improvements needed. A head teacher would be a start. My daughter enjoys most of her time here, but there is a huge lack of creative play and time for art. She feels she doesn't have fun most of the time, which is really sad. She used to love school in reception, then year one started and she says she doesn't enjoy it anymore. She never brings any drawings or artwork home. She doesn't get time for free play in the classroom and everything is too... Work focused for a 5 year old. She'd rather stay at home, and that's a big shame. The lack of a head teacher has definitely been felt, and her teacher leaving with just 4 days notice has unsettled her a lot. The sudden withdrawal from swimming was rubbish too, but that was down to the awful head teacher that was appointed - who has now thankfully left. Despite this, I know the teachers work really hard to keep the school running smoothly, and the teachers are fantastic. But overall, the school could be so much better.

Great teachers and school ethos
